West Ham hoping to bring in £18m for experienced duo

|

West Ham are hoping to raise £18million from selling Pedro Obiang and Javier Hernandez, according to Claret and Hugh.

The reliable club source claims that Manuel Pellegrini is open to the sale of Obiang for £6million, with reports suggesting that Sassuolo are to challenge Fiorentina for the signature of the Spaniard.

That would mean that any exit for Hernandez could be worth up to £12million, with the Mexican international linked with a number of different moves this summer.

The Hammers were reported to have to need to sell some of their fringe players to fund moves for any potential incomings this summer.

If West Ham are able to receive up to £18million for the duo of Hernandez and Obiang, they should count themselves lucky. The exit of the midfielder has been on the cards for a long time, with a number of different Italian clubs hunting for his signature. The 27-year-old wanted to leave the London Stadium last summer but the Hammers eventually chose to sell Chieck Kouyate. Selling Hernandez would be a masterstroke, with the Mexican international the club’s top earner on £140,000 per week. [Spotrac] The Mexican is currently in Switzerland for the pre-season training camp, meaning any exit is currently not close. With Marko Arnautovic also on the verge of leaving, the Hammers are surely set to bring in reinforcements before the season opener against Manchester City. Pellegrini still wants to bring in two strikers, meaning Hernandez is definitely more than likely to leave London, the only part of the deal which needs ironing out is the fee they will receive.
