West Ham United are not interested in signing Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable club source revealed that the Hammers are not pursuing the Croatian international, with all eyes still firmly set on Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez.

ExWHUemployee revealed on his personal Twitter account that West Ham have a couple of targets based in Italy, just in case a move for Gomez falls through in the coming weeks.

Italian news outlet FC Inter News recently reported that West Ham had made an enquiry regarding the services of the 30-year-old, who reached the World Cup final last summer with Croatia.

OPINION

Perisic would have been a good introduction at the London Stadium two years ago. At 30-years-old, a big money move could be a risky move for the Croatian despite the fact he can definitely still cut it. Especially with Inter reportedly being valued at a top value of £31.4million. With the Hammers having offered to meet the £44.85million release clause of Gomez, according to Sky Sports – it comes as no surprise that Manuel Pellegrini has not specifically targeted the winger. The recent arrival of Pablo Fornals and Felipe Anderson having excelled in his first Premier League season, there isn’t a big urge for the club to make their wide areas stronger next season. With back up options such as Manuel Lanzini at the club, and Andriy Yarmolenko coming back from injury – Pellegrini has a shed load of options to call upon, with the fear that another addition to the fold could complicate things massively in East London.
