West Ham call in Joorabchian to get Haller deal done

|

West Ham United have called in super agent Kia Joorabchian to help them get a deal over the line for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, according to Claret & Hugh.

The reliable Hammers news source claims that Joorabchian, most notably the agent of Barcelona superstar Philippe Coutinho, is involved in talks to bring the 6ft 2in Frenchman [Source: Transfermarkt] to the London Stadium.

Indeed, Joorabchian is thought to be flying to the capital imminently to meet with West Ham chiefs to further negotiations over the 25-year-old.

The Iranian is well known to the Hammers faithful, having been instrumental in the deal to bring Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano to the club all those years ago.

OPINION

Joorabchian probably isn’t the most well-liked agent in east London, with the Tevez and Mascherano deals having more than a whiff of dodgy dealings about them, even if both players did excel at Upton Park. However, he is clearly involved in this deal to try and get it done, which is what the supporters want. So there is common ground there and, besides, he was said to have been involved in the successful transfer of Felipe Anderson last summer, so his presence is certainly not a negative, here. The Hammers are obviously keen to get a deal over the line for the Frankfurt star, and have called on the heavy hitters to help them do so. To be honest, given the striking situation at the London Stadium, any possible advantage they can get in negotiations for Haller is worth exploring. Joorabchian, if he can help secure the signature of the Frenchman, will see his popularity sky rocket in our nation’s capital.
