West Ham surely set to miss out on Cutrone

There is no hiding the fact that despite West Ham’s limited resources, Manuel Pellegrini would still love to reinforce his attacking options at the London Stadium.

After the departures of Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez, and Marko Arnautovic, the Chilean was left with Javier Hernandez and Jordan Hugill as his only forward options, until the club-record signing of Sebastien Haller.

With Hugill being reported by the Daily Mail to be closing in on a loan move to Queens Park Rangers, the Hammers need to strengthen further in attack.

West Ham have been reported by reliable club source ExWHUemployee on his personal Twitter account to have a strong interest in AC Milan forward Patrick Cutrone, but only in a loan-deal.

The Hammers will now surely be forced to look elsewhere though, with AC Milan now being reported by the Mirror to be holding talks with Wolves as the 21-year-old closes in on a move to Molineux.

With Pellegrini reportedly only wanting a loan move and with Wolves set to pay £16million for the Italian international, West Ham could have surely dodged a bullet.

Cutrone could have been the perfect back-up to Haller, with the powerful young forward not ready for the task of the leading the line in East London just yet.

The 21-year-old only managed to score three times in 34 appearances, and West Ham could have been the place for Cutrone to kick start his career.

At AC Milan, Cutrone only managed to average one shot on goal and 0.6 key passes per game last season [WhoScored] and would need to drastically improve to make Pellegrini regret potentially missing out on the Italian.

The Hammers have surely dodged a bullet with Wolves reportedly closing in on Cutrone, and now must focus their attention on other striking options to provide back-up to Haller and Hernandez next season.
