The West Ham United supporters were left stunned on Saturday when forgotten man Jordan Hugill popped up to score for the team’s Under-23s side in their 3-1 victory over Slovakian outfit FC Humenne. The 27-year-old was brought to the club during David Moyes’s brief time in charge, but never looked close to making a first team impact. Now, it appears he is going to be sold this summer, if this tweet from journalist Alan Nixon is anything to by. However, for now he is still a West Ham player, just one who has been relegated to youth team duty by manager Manuel Pellegrini. The low regard the former Preston North End man is held in by the club’s supporters is demonstrated by their reaction to him scoring, here. The sarcasm is absolutely palpable as they call Hugill ‘the Goat’ and claim that he’s now worth £15million minimum. Ultimately he will be leaving the London Stadium at some point in the near future, but at least he has a nice goal to take with him.
