No progress on Haller

|

West Ham have made no progress on their attempt to bring in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, according to Football.London.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with a move for the 6’3″ Frenchman [Transfermarkt], with Italian journalist Nicolo Schira even going as far as to suggest that a deal was all but done.

But the report from Football.London suggests that there is still some way to go, with no deal yet agreed.

OPINION

This probably isn’t the news that West Ham fans will have been wanting to hear, but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. There is nothing to suggest that the deal won’t go through as planned, but at this stage it is important that supporters don’t get too far ahead of themselves. Certainly, you would still have to say that Haller seems the most likely of the Hammers’ striking targets to be brought in, but perhaps it would be wise to put the celebrations on ice, just for now. If the Irons can land their man, he would be a fantastic addition to the side. 15 goals last season is some return, and his 1.3 key passes and 6.9 aerial duels won per game [Whoscored] show a player who is about so much more than just banging in the goals. Fingers crossed that there is more positive news in the near future.
