The reliable club source claimed that the Premier League giants are the other team to hold an interest in the Frenchman, and could see the forward as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku should he leave the club.
Yep they are the other interested club! They haven’t bid but if lukaku goes they may well do https://t.co/BNTO3eMUNM

West Ham were recently reported by the Daily Mail to have been close to wrapping up a deal worth £36million for the Frankfurt striker, after holding rapid talks with his representatives.
This isn’t exactly the good news all Hammers’ fans were hoping for this week. After Sky Sports had revealed a move for Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez had collapsed, everyone involved at West Ham will be fearing the worst now that a deal for Haller is looking like it might drag on even further into the coming days. The joy they would have felt after the reports that a deal was close to being finalised will have slowly faded. Manchester United being interested does, however, show the talent that the 25-year-old holds. The Frenchman holds a great physical presence up top and was involved in 24 goals in the Bundesliga last term. In those involvements were nine assists, with Haller winning 6.9 aerial battles on average per game [WhoScored] – a stat that only shows how effective the Frankfurt forward could be at the London Stadium. West Ham will look to move forward with a potential deal, and look to finalise a move for Haller before the Red Devils have a chance to affect the negotiations this summer. They will have learnt a lot from talks with Gomez, and will not want a repeat of that specific deal.
