West Ham are set to launch a renewed bid for Salomon Rondon, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with a move for the 29-year-old Venezuelan, and are understood to have offered a player plus cash deal for him, with Jordan Hugill and Sam Byram included in negotiations, as reported by the Daily Star.

But ExWHUemployee claims that a new bid will be launched without Hugill.

Speaking on the West Ham Way podcast, he said: “We’re going to bid for Rondon again.

“We’re going to remove Hugill from the deal which we offered before – Byram, Hugill, and £12 million off the top of my head. We’re going to remove Hugill and offer more money.

“Rondon wants to move to us. He knows Pellegrini really well.”

OPINION

Poor Jordan Hugill can’t seem to catch a break at the moment. A move to West Brom would have suited him nicely, but in the politest of terms he has essentially been told to keep walking by the Baggies. As for West Ham and their pursuit of Rondon, it’s an absolute no-brainer. The Venezuelan showed just how effective he can be in the Premier League during his spell with Newcastle United last season, winning an average of 4.6 aerial duels per match, as well executing one key pass per 90 minutes [Whoscored]. Having him as the focal point of an attack would really give the Hammers something to focus their efforts around, and if the price is to be around £12 million, with Sam Byram’s wages offsetting some of the money needed to pay Rondon, the deal makes perfect sense financially as well. The sooner this tied up, the better.
