Jordan a bargain at Eibar price

Mario Husillos has been working in overdrive this week as West Ham prepare to strengthen their squad for the next Premier League season.

After confirming the signing of Pablo Fornals on Friday, Sky Sports revealed on Saturday that the Hammers have had a £29million offer accepted by Celta Vigo for the signing of Maxi Gomez.

Alongside that, it was reported that the London club had also made an offer of £13million for Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan on the same day.

The Spanish midfield holds a £13.25million release clause and West Ham are reportedly battling it out with their rivals from the capital, Arsenal for his services.

Pellegrini has seemingly made the first move and should he be able to bring in the 24-year-old it would send out a real signal of intent to clubs close to them in the Premier League.

Jordan has made 75 appearances in his two years at Eibar and is currently entering his final year on his contract at the La Liga side. The battling midfielder would add a great calming presence to the Hammers’ side, with his ability to keep possession a real strength.

With both Mark Noble and Declan Rice predominantly known for their defensive strengths, Jordan would slot into Pellegrini’s side perfectly as a deep-lying playmaker. For Eibar, his passing ability speaks for itself with the midfielder averaging nearly two key passes per game (1.9) and completes nearly 47 passes (46.8) in every outing at a success rate of 83.4% [WhoScored].

West Ham are crying out for a midfield option that can allow them to dominate possession more in games, and should they complete a move for Jordan at the bargain price of £13million, other players at the club will surely benefit from his arrival.
