Declan Rice has taken to Twitter to voice his amazement at Tyson Fury.

The heavyweight colossus stopped previously unbeaten German Tom Schwarz inside two rounds in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning, and West Ham starlet Rice was suitably impressed by the display.

Writing on his personal account, he said: “Fury’s head movement and defence is ridiculous”.

OPINION

Rice has made no secret of his love of boxing in the past, but even the most casual of fans will have been blown away by Fury’s display in the early hours of Sunday morning. The way that the big man moves is almost unbelievable, and his ducking and weaving truly is a sight to behold. West Ham fans will be hoping that Rice can take a similar fighting spirit into next season. The midfielder has already carved out a niche for himself as the defensive talent in the Irons’ engine room, and he could really take some lessons from Fury’s agile ways. Rice is definitely more mobile than your average defensive midfielder, and his tendency to nip in and dispossess attackers his a very valuable asset. The only real point of his game that Rice could probably improve on would be his goal return. Hopefully he can take inspiration from Fury this coming term and land a few more haymakers.
