youngster inked a long-term contract extension through to 2022 on Thursday, much to the delight of the Hammers faithful. Clearly the fans are extremely keen for him to be involved as quickly as possible in the first team set-up, and he surely will be. It’s a bit of a surprise that he hasn’t made the breakthrough already, but he has been unfortunate with injuries up until this point. However, it seems that he has the right manager in place now for him to kick on and become a fixture in the match day squad next season. Manuel Pellegrini has handed opportunities to a multitude of West Ham youngsters this campaign and will likely continue to do so in the future. Ben Johnson, Grady Diangana, Xande Silva and, of course, Declan Rice have all made varying impacts for the first team this campaign. Many expected Holland to be part of that group, but he will surely be given a chance to make an impact in pre season this summer and then in competitive fixtures next season.
