OPINION
West Ham United revealed their new home and away kits for next season on their official Twitter account on Thursday, and it’s safe to say that the fans are pretty happy. The home kit is very nice in its own right, but the away strip is a thing of beauty. There genuinely have not been many kits in recent years that are as nice as this Hammers away kit. It seems that Umbro have gone retro for this one, inspired by the 1980 team, and it’s worked wonders. West Ham are an old fashioned, working class club, and so kits like these suit them perfectly. However, as a couple of fans note, it would be even better if the home kit had white shorts, as opposed to the claret shorts shown in the video below. That’s a minor quibble, though, considering how good both of these strips look. They will likely both fly off the shelf this summer, particularly the away one. Who knows, perhaps the sales could even help boost the transfer kitty.
