What a signing Lukasz Fabianski has been for West Ham. The Polish stopper arrived at the London Stadium last summer for £7 million after having suffered relegation with Swansea City, and since then, barely a week has gone by where he hasn’t done something to endear himself to the Hammers faithful a little bit more. The 34-year-old has had an outstanding campaign, and was rewarded for his efforts on Wednesday evening when he was given the Save of the Season, Signing of the Season, and Hammer of the Year accolades at the club’s annual awards ceremony, as posted to the ace’s Twitter on Thursday. Honestly, you can’t argue with any of them. Who knows how many points the stopper has saved the Hammers this season, and who knows how valuable his experience has been for the likes of Issa Diop and Fabien Balbuena; relatively young players making their bows in the English game. Fabianski’s shot stopping is superb, his handling is always tight, and you would be hard pushed to remember him making a proper mistake at any point this term. He has thoroughly deserved all the plaudits that have been lavished on him, and he will no doubt be just as priceless next time around.
