West Ham United attacker Lucas Perez can likely leave the club for just £4million this summer, according to Football London journalist Sam Inkersole.

The Hammers correspondent delivered his verdict on whether each member of the club’s first team squad should be bought or sold this summer.

Inkersole believes the Spaniard, on a reported £80,000-per-week [Source: Spotrac], will be let go if a team matches the £4million fee West Ham paid Arsenal a year ago.

The Hammers attempted to get rid of the 30-year-old in January but couldn’t shift him. However, he could well depart in a few months time.

OPINION

Perez has never seemed to fit in at the London Stadium, despite showing flashes of potential this season. He’s looked pretty decent when he’s actually played this term, but manager Manuel Pellegrini simply doesn’t seem to fancy him. There have been grumblings of unprofessionalism on the training ground which perhaps contributed to his neglect under the Chilean, but the former Gunner has actually impressed on a few occasions. You wonder whether it would be worth giving him a run of games at the start of next season and then, if he doesn’t take his opportunity, shipping him off in January. However, it seems as if West Ham have made their mind up here. If someone offers a £4million fee, chump change in this day and age, then it appears Perez will be off quick as a flash. This makes you wonder why the Hammers signed him in the first place, but it’s not for us to question the wisdom of Mario Husillos and Pellegrini…
