West Ham are likely to loan out 20-year-old goalkeeper Nathan Trott next season, according to the Evening Standard.
It is understood that veteran goalkeeper Adrian will leave the Hammers this summer – a move that would make Trott the most senior back-up option to number one Lukasz Fabianski.
But the Standard suggest that the Irons will instead look to Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero to provide cover for the Pole, freeing Trott up to continue his development away from the club.

This makes a lot of sense really. The hope will be that Fabianski is able to act as an ever-present next season, as he did this, but the last thing you want is to have to throw a rookie keeper in at the deep end halfway through a season f your number one picks up an injury. Sometimes this can work out, and when it does then it is obviously a huge bonus. But if things do go wrong it can effectively end a career before it has begun. You have to have unwavering trust in a player to plunge him in to a first team situation without any experience, and it is no reflection on Trott that Pellegrini feels the need to look elsewhere for short term cover. You would back the 20-year-old to have a big future at the London Stadium, but a little bit of experience in the lower leagues certainly wouldn’t go amiss, and the hope will be that he comes back even stronger when he does return from his spell away.
