Nasri can make most of Lanzini absence

It is difficult what to make of on-loan West Ham United midfielder Samir Nasri this season – one minute he is electric, the next he can make you wish that he had never been signed.

Many fans no doubt raised their eyebrows when he arrived, and rightly so. He had been out of action for just over a year due to drug-related issues, so the risk he carried when he joined was notable – either he was going to be a success, or he was going to be a complete and utter waste of time.

Well, it is hard to judge him really seeing as he has only made five appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers. What we do know is, though, is that he is excellent when the ball is at his feel, consistency, however, is another question – and it is something that has been leaving him out of the team.

He was absent for the 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Saturday through injury, but if he is deemed fit enough in time for the Leicester clash this weekend, it may be an opportunity that he will have to grab firmly with both hands.

Claret and Hugh have reported that his teammate Manuel Lanzini is ruled out of the game on Saturday, and this could be the perfect chance for Manuel Pellegrini to unleash Nasri.

Seeing as there are only a few games remaining this season, playing Nasri would give him the platform to impress and convince the manager that he should stay beyond the end of his loan spell, which expires in the summer.

The French attacker can seriously make Lanzini sweat if he is able to turn a few heads, and that is something that he will need to do if he is to secure a future playing at West Ham.
