Ian Abrahams shared that he would like to see West Ham get rid of attacker Marko Arnautovic in the summer only for Stoke City’s Charlie Adam to question his opinion.

The talkSPORT broadcaster shared a list of ten players he’d like to see leave the London Stadium and included the 29-year-old forward on his list.

“. players I think will/should go this summer,” tweeted Abrahams on his personal Twitter account.

“10 Players I’d like us to get rid of in the summer Perez, Hernandez, Arnautovic, Carroll, Obiang, Masuaku, Sanchez, Reid, Hugill, Byram.”

This saw Adam reply, via his account, to share that ditching Arnautovic would be ruthless as he is the best player the Hammers have, this prompted Abrahams to list Declan Rice, Lukasz Fabianski, Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and Mark Noble as all being better.

The Stoke City midfielder admitted three of those were possibly better and Abrahams replied to say he was sorry to disagree with him but with Arnautovic “sulking” since January, he can’t be considered one of the best players at the club.

OPINION

Abrahams and Adam clashing over Arnautovic is pretty amusing as a similar debate is raging on amongst West Ham supporters. Arnautovic seemed to be intent on wanting out of the club in January but ended up penning a new contract instead. Since the whole speculation about his long-term future at the Hammers begun, Arnautovic hasn’t been the same player. The forward has at times appeared as if he is sulking about still being in the club and no longer looks the top-quality attacker he was before his future was put in doubt. That said, Arnautovic has struggled with injuries during this period and his teammates haven’t exactly been making it easy for him either, as they’ve been failing to consistently create chances for him. It’s also worth pointing out that in the second half of the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Monday, Arnautovic put in a much-improved display and maybe he is about to turn his form around.
