Lucas Perez will be hoping that his impressive performance against Leicester at the weekend has earned him a start ahead of Spurs game.

The 30-year old hasn’t been playing too much this season for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, although he did find himself on the score sheet as the Hammers drew 2-2 with Leicester last Saturday.

As well as scoring West Ham’s second goal of the game, Perez also scored a goal which was wrongly disallowed for offside, which would’ve been his fourth of the season in 13 league appearances had it gone in.

Often seen as a forgotten man at West Ham since his arrival from Arsenal in the summer, Perez certainly took his chance and ran with it when he featured for Pellegrini’s side on Saturday as he wowed everyone by being clinical.

In a game which is sure to be a big one at the weekend against Spurs, Perez should definitely be given another chance to show what he’s got in his locker, especially after a decent display in his previous outing.

The ex-Arsenal forward would be the perfect fit to start up top when the Hammers travel to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, as he will be hoping to see out the season in the most positive way possible.

He will have tough competition for a place, however Pellegrini should hand him a chance by starting him against Spurs.

If the Spaniard is once again left out of the starting eleven for the upcoming fixture, then surely questions will start to be asked about his future in a claret and blue shirt.
