Many West Ham fans were amused after Declan Rice took a cheeky dig at Tottenham after being asked what he was thinking ahead of playing for England at Wembley on Friday. The Hammers official Twitter account released a short interview with the 20-year-old ahead of him featuring for England and it’s fair to say it showed why he was a fan favourite at the London Stadium. Rice revealed that when he took to the pitch at Wembley ahead of featuring he couldn’t help but think that the Hammers beat Spurs there last season. This remark had Hammers fans declaring their love for Rice as they always a appreciate any opportunity to mock their London rivals. As one fan below stated, it’s this sort of remark that makes Rice seem West Ham through and through and supporters are always going to appreciate a player like that. Rice may have started his career at Chelsea before jumping to the Hammers at a very young age, but it’s clear where his heart lies currently.
