West Ham players will be travelling over 44,468 miles between them during this international break and surely Manuel Pellegrini is fretting about the effect that could hurt on his squad.

The Daily Mirror calculated how far each Premier League’s squad would be travelling over the current international break and it saw the Hammers sit second for the furthest distance in the table the newspaper mocked up.

Only Tottenham’s squad are set to travel further and it’s a concern how the Hammers’ players could be left jet lagged once the international break concludes.

The Hammers were already looking a little tired and not at their best ahead of the break, so this news surely should be concern for the experienced manager.

The Hammers lacked energy in their defeat to Cardiff City and against Huddersfield Town, ahead of turning the game around, it was another lacklustre display on show by the team.

With matches coming thick and fast for West Ham after the international break, the fact their players are racking up so many miles may end up hurting the club.

The Hammers no doubt wants to finish strongly this season and kick-on to secure a top-half finish, but it’s worth noting competition to finish in the top-10 is fierce this season.

Pellegrini doesn’t have the biggest squad in the world to work with, especially when you take injuries into account, and tired players are the last thing he needs.

This is especially the case when the club’s rivals for a top-10 finish could have an advantage as their players are doing way less travelling over this break.

Given that there’s not much the Hammers boss can do to combat this effects of this reported stat, it surely will have him concerned.
