West Ham fans will surely be up in arms over talkSPORT broadcaster Ian Abrahams being so dismissive of the club’s chances of winning trophies in the years to come.

The know Hammers supporter delivered a gloomy outlook on the Hammers’ chances of future success, as he confidently claimed they weren’t going to win very much in the years to come.

Before highlighting the struggle they face just to finish in the Premier League’s top-six.

“Listen West Ham aren’t going to win very much in the years to come, I think getting in the top six even for a club like West Ham is really really difficult,” said Abrahams on talkSPORT (Thursday, March 28th, 11:55am).

While Abrahams is right to claim getting into the top-six, especially on a regular basis, is a difficult task; he is still overly too pessimistic.

West Ham may be having a mixed season under Manuel Pellegrini as the club’s form has been inconsistent, but there’s been enough positives to suggest that the Hammers are moving in the right direction towards winning trophies in the upcoming season.

The Hammers have an experienced manager in Pellegrini, who has won more than his fair share of trophies, and after investing in the squad in the summer, have a squad packed with quality.

In fact the Hammers arguably should have done better in the League Cup this season, as they could have performed better against Tottenham, and could have done way better in the FA Cup.

The London club were at their worst against AFC Wimbledon in January and this saw them exit the tournament in the 4th round.

Yet that doesn’t mean the Hammers are miles away from adding plenty of silverware to their cabinet, especially if they improve their squad just a little more in the summer, as they are better than both their cup runs this season suggest.

Given this surely Hammers supporters are up in arms over Abrahams being so unconvinced by their side as it’s like he’s trying to crush any small hope they may hold.
