West Ham youngster Nathan Trott must be thrilled about his future at the London Stadium as it seems that the door to the first-team is being left ajar for him.

According to Claret & Hugh the Hammers will be hunting the transfer market to find a goalkeeper capable of being back-up to Lukasz Fabianski in the short-term.

The dedicated Hammers website claimed that the club want a new shot-stopper as current second-choice option Adrian is expected to leave in the summer and Trott isn’t thought to be quite ready to be the club’s No.2.

While Manuel Pellegrini may not believe the 20-year-old goalkeeper is ready for a place in his senior squad next season, the fact the Hammers are only searching for a short-term solution shows they have confidence in him.

If the club were searching for a goalkeeper to potentially be Fabianski’s successor then Trott would have reason to panic, but that simply isn’t the case.

The Hammers shot-stopper has been regularly featuring for the club’s U-23s this season and recently penned a new contract to keep him at the club until 2022.

Trott may not have made an appearance for the senior side yet, but when you take into account Claret & Hugh’s transfer report as well as the fact he just got a new deal, the future looks bright for one of the club’s hidden gems.

Claret & Hugh’s report claims that Trott is more likely to be loaned to a Championship club then be the Hammers’ No.2 next season and it seems that if he has a successful spell away, he’d move up the pecking order at the London Stadium.

Therefore while some may think Trott should be disappointed at not being likely to take Adrian’s spot in the first-team squad, the fact the door is clearly being left open for him to appear in the near future, must have him licking his lips.
