Former West Ham defender Patrice Evra asked Marko Arnautovic to stop speaking like him after watching his latest post on Instagram.

Arnautovic shared a sneak peak of a video series he had been doing with DAZN.com in which a team of people had followed him around over the last couple of months.

In the video uploaded to his personal Instagram, Arnautovic is asked what he would do if he got a better job offer and shares that he is only human and fans should respect him, like he respects them.

This video prompted Evra via his personal Instagram to send his former teammate a message by stating; “Can you stop talking like me please?”

OPINION

What is Arnautovic doing by posting this video? The attacker upset a lot of Hammers supporters by being tempted by a move to China as reliable sources such as The Telegraph claimed he had told the club he wanted out. Yet a lucrative move for Arnautovic never came to fruition and he ended up penning a new West Ham contract to signal his commitment to the club. While a lot of Hammers fans surely still weren’t convinced by Arnautovic signing a new deal, the anger surrounding him wanting to leave had simmered. In fact supporters’ only concern regarding Arnautovic in recent weeks was based on the fact he was just struggling to deliver the goods. If the forward is set to get his January wish of leaving the club in the coming summer, then fans probably would have been fine with him, if he just stopped talking and wowed them on the pitch instead. However releasing videos like this, do nothing but remind fans of how he nearly left the club in January. Given Evra’s remark, you  wonder if  he believes Arnautovic is trying to show his passion for the game, like the former Hammers defender does, but is going about it all wrong.
