West Ham first tea mainstay Michail Antonio is among those in the firing line ahead of the summer as director of football Mario Husillos plots an exodus to bring in some much needed funds, according to Claret and Hugh.

The well known and reputable West Ham news outlet claim that 29-year-old Antonio, who has missed out in just four of the club’s Premier League games this season, is valued at £15million by the Irons and with manager Manuel Pellegrini looking to splash the cash this summer, is among a number of names who could be offloaded.

It is stated Husillos will be in charge of selling the club’s talents, with Arthur Masuaku, Lucas Perez and Pedro Obiang all said to be worth a total of £15million and Edimilson Fernandes worth another £8million, totalling £38million of income if Antonio is sold for his valuation.

Opinion

Antonio might have been used plenty by Pellegrini this season but that does not mean he has lived up to standards. He has been a jack of all trades and master of none, finding himself shoehorned into a variety of positions to cover for absentees in the side. If the Hammers could get £15million for him then they should snap the buyers’ hand off, for that is a hefty amount of money for a man who has not really done enough to warrant such a price tag being set on his head. There are likely to be a number of West Ham players who are made available for sale this summer if the price is right – after all, no one looks untouchable in this Hammers side – and it could be another pre-season of change in east London. Antonio would be a big name exit but if it funds the signing of fresh talent then there are unlikely to be too many Irons fans upset with his departure.
