West Ham fans desperate to sign Depay

The international break often has fans dreaming of their club side for two weeks and it seems as though the West Ham faithful cannot get their team off their minds. The performance of Olympique Lyonnais’ Memphis Depay for the Netherlands seems to have piqued their interest as a number of supporters urge their side to snap him up on Twitter – and for good reason. He was brilliant in his country’s famous orange kit against Belarus on Thursday, taking less than a minute to find the back of the net with the first of two goals on the way to a 4-0 victory. His performances on club level have been impressive too, chipping in with eight goals and 14 assists for the French outfit across all competitions. He might have struggled at Manchester United earlier in his career but it seems he has rediscovered his confidence. Would he just be another Dimitri Payet though, looking to use the London Stadium as a stepping stone for bigger and brighter things? He is already playing Champions League football and so it could be considered a step down for the 25-year-old. This would be an ambitious signing if it came off, but the Irons supporters might have to keep this as a pipe dream.
