Marko Arnautovic reported for training with West Ham on Tuesday morning but Hammers fans shouldn’t take it as a sign of encouragement.

According to reputable source ExWHUemployee on Twitter, the Austrian reported for a session with Manuel Pellegrini’s side following a short break over the weekend.

But the 29-year-old’s appearance should not be taken as a sign of his commitment to the club, with his supposed move to China still very much on the cards.

According to a report in The Sun, Arnautovic will secure his transfer to the Far East by the end of the week, and if anything, his presence at training will be little more than a contingency plan.

At this stage, it is fairly clear that the forward does not want to stay at West Ham, but it is equally clear that the club, if possible, do not want to sell him.

It’s all well and good for the tabloids to publish stories suggesting that he will leaving in the very near future, but the Austrian will now that if something does fall through at the eleventh hour then he has to make the best of a bad situation, and refusing to train now could have bad implications further down the line.

Make no mistake, Arnautovic still wants to leave London.
