It remains to be seen why West Ham United have suffered a bit of a slump recently – but if you were to have a guess, their attack was largely at fault for the team’s display in the loss to Wolves on Tuesday.

None of them had a good game, and it is about time that someone came in who could provide the attack with an extra pair of fresh legs and a much-needed shot of energy – and this player is Real Betis winger Takashi Inui, who is currently on loan at Alaves.

He is relatively unknown amongst most fans, but his performance against Belgium in the World Cup for Japan pretty much summed up how much of a threat he can pose.

The Hammers must revive his flailing career at the La Liga side – the 30-year-old has only made 14 appearances all season – in order to propel themselves to a top ten spot in the Premier League this season.

He has not been given the chance to showcase the talent that saw him excel for Japan in the summer, so the Irons must help him escape from a club that is letting his career dwindle.

The international would add the flair, creativity and skill needed to provide stiff competition for first team places and keep the rest of the team on their toes.

Moving to the Premier League would provide him with the experience to improve as a player, as he has certainly shown the potential to be a great player.

Joining West Ham would allow him to unleash that potential, so the Irons must move swiftly before the window slams shut on Thursday [31/1].

Manuel Pellegrini needs to add a player with new ideas to give the team a new dimension in attack, and Inui is just that player.

He is just what they need, so they must pounce for the ace as soon as possible.
