West Ham United are interested in signing Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to CuoreToro.

The Italian outlet reports on their website that the Hammers are keen on the captain of the Serie A outfit, but it is not yet known whether they will be able to negotiate a deal for him in this current transfer window or in the summer.

The report adds that around £44 million (€50 million) will be needed in order to convince Torino to part ways with their 5ft 11in [Transfermarkt] star, who has scored nine goals in 21 games in Italy this season.

OPINION

The Sun have reported that the deal for Marko Arnautovic to move to China is now off, so it remains to be seen why the Hammers would be interested in another centre-forward. However, with the likes of Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll very much wide of the mark in terms of standards, swooping for the 25-year-old may not be such a bad idea after all. He may not have the most prolific goal tally in the land, but one thing is for sure – he will be a major upgrade on the striker that is Perez. With Arnautovic likely to sulk after not being allowed to exit the London Stadium, he is hardly going to be in the right frame of mind to play anyway. This means that the fans would most likely welcome the signing of a talisman this month, because they would rather be safe than be sorry. Who knows, Belotti could be a revelation at West Ham if they advanced their interested – but they will have to meet the high price tag first.
