OPINION
If more evidence was needed of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice’s prodigious talent it was evident in his team’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday. The 19-year-old looked tremendous throughout the clash at the London Stadium, crashing into tackles and not giving Arsenal’s gifted footballers any room to work. In a two man central midfield unit alongside Mark Noble it puts a lot of pressure on both men to get through the miles and pressure the opposition. Rice certainly did that on Saturday – he was everywhere. He produced an excellent moment in the first half when he shows his awareness to get back and intercept a dangerous looking ball intended for Gunners frontman Alexandre Lacazette. He got his reward for a phenomenal display when he put his team in front early in the second half. The Hammers star is such an impressive young man and he’s having a wonderful season, Saturday’s performance was merely a continuation of that fact. If he can continue his form from the first half of the season over the second half of the campaign then West Ham should be on for a decent run-in.

How classy is Rice he is the closest to Bobby Moore in his composure I have seen in a West Ham shirt since the great man himself
