West Ham United will launch an enquiry for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson amid uncertainty over the future of Marko Arnautovic, according to a club insider.

ExWHUemployee, who is a renowned source of exclusive Hammers news, claimed on his personal Twitter account on Saturday that he believed an approach for Wilson was on the way.

It is said that the Hammers have been tracking Wilson for a while and have enquired about a deal for him previously.

Irons star Arnautovic has been the subject of a £28million bid from China, with his brother and agent then revealing that the 29-year-old is keen on the move to the Far East.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes.

Ideally the club will keep hold of Arnautovic this month, with the Austria international being their best option up front by a country mile.

However, should he decide to leave, which does look like it could happen, then swooping for Wilson would be a good way of replacing the 29-year-old.

Wilson has been in great form for the Cherries this season, scoring ten goals in all competitions, and has shown he has the quality to become a top-quality Premier League striker when given the opportunity.

Likely to happen?

Obviously this depends on whether Arnautovic leaves, which the club will obviously be trying to prevent happening.

However, the statement from his agent was pretty clear, and looking at his body language after being substituted against Arsenal on Saturday, it does seem as though the striker is gearing up to leave London.

Moving onto Wilson, prying the striker away from Bournemouth will not be easy, but a big bid could well convince the Cherries to part ways.
