OPINION
Many West Ham fans were no doubt surprised that Pedro Obiang started in the place of Mark Noble against Brighton, who ended up replacing him in the second half of this 2-2 draw. It seems like this section of Hammers fans were not pleased in the slightest with the performance of Obiang, and who can really blame them? Like one pointed out, his passing accuracy was “dreadful” for the entirety, and this is simply not good enough for a place in the starting XI. The Brighton midfield ran rings around until he was taken off, and there is no doubt that the fans would like to see him dropped for their next Premier League match. Noble came on and made a huge difference to the game, which highlights just how bad Obiang was. Another fan joked how he looked like “Bambi on ice”, which is not the worst comparison. Obiang has had much better games than this, something which he surely recognises.
