West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic is expected to be back in one to two weeks after bruising his foot, according to exWHUemployee.
The insider – who is a reliable source of news on the Hammers – revealed via their Twitter account that the club’s star player is set to return after two weeks out at the latest after injuring his foot in the 3-0 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday night.
The Irons initially feared that the 29-year-old had broken his foot after sustaining the injury, but he now looks to be returning sooner than they were expecting.
Arnie has only bruised his foot and should be back within 1-2 weeks!! There was no break like first feared
OPINION
Despite the whole furore surrounding Arnautovic’s supposed intentions to leave the club recently, the fact that he is not sidelined for an extended period of time will be music to the West Ham fans’ ears. They may resent him for the way he treated the club lately, but having him missing for a while is definitely not what they need. They have suffered some poor results recently and they are in desperate need to get their season back on track. Nobody expected them to lose as heavily as they did to Wolves on Tuesday, but this is no doubt due to a lack of confidence after crashing out of the FA Cup to League One strugglers AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. Arnautovic needs to get firing for them once again when he returns, as it is clear that the current striker force are not going to step up to the plate any time soon. Whether you love him or hate him, this is great news for the supporters.
