Ian Wright heaped praise on West Ham fringe player Grady Diangana when looking at Manuel Pellegrini’s current squad.

The BBC pundit highlighted the 20-year-old winger’s brilliant left foot and proclaimed that he was simply a beautiful player.

“Yes (when Diangana was mentioned), beautiful player as well, brilliant left foot,” said Wright on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club (December 17th, 1:45:30)

Diangana has made nine league appearances this season but has only played 34 minutes of the Hammers’ last four league outings.

OPINION

Wright may have had to be reminded that Diangana was lurking at the London Stadium but as soon as his name was mentioned the Arsenal legend was full of praise. While the 20-year-old is currently not regularly featuring, he has certainly made a name for himself this season. Only a few would have been aware of Diangana at the start of the 2018/19 campaign but he has made sure that every Hammers supporter is aware of his potentially by seizing his opportunity to feature for the first-team. In his outings the attacker has looked a handful for his opponents and hasn’t looked out his depth playing in the Premier League. The only time you would have questioned whether the youngster was ready for football in England’s top-flight is when he played against Manchester City. However given the fact a lot of Diangana’s senior teammates struggled to cope with the tasking of facing Pep Guardiola’s team, that can’t exactly be held against him.
