OPINION

Manuel Pellegrini was hoping his West Ham side were able to keep their impressive form going against Fulham and that is exactly what they did.

The Hammers took a 1-0 lead through Robert Snodgrass in the 17th minute before Michail Antonio made it 2-0 just 12 minutes later.

While Fulham had plenty of opportunities especially in the first half, the Hammers were clinical in front of gal and their 2-0 victory didn’t look in doubt due to this.

Forever West Ham has awarded every player a rating for their performance during the clash against Fulham, with two impressive players competing for the MOTM award in 9/10s.

Goalkeeper and defence

Lukasz Fabianski – 9 – Good save to deny Aboubakar Kamara in early stages of the game. Was called into action a couple of times to deny the forward again after his side went 1-0 up. Was vital as may have been a different game if he conceded in the first half. MOTM contender.

Pablo Zabaleta – 7 – Defensively strong and was an attacking threat as well.

Fabian Balbuena – 8  – Aleksandar Mitrovic bypassed the central defender a couple of times in the first half, however was very solid other than that. Got Diop out of trouble when the Hammers centre-back fluffed his attempts to clear a cross. Was a reassuring presence.

Issa Diop – 7  – Good defending in the early minutes of the match. Made a few mistakes but overall his performance was solid.

Arthur Masuaku-  5 – Got bypassed on a few occasions and his crossing ability was to be desired.

Midfield

Declan Rice – 7 – Got nutmegged in the opening minutes but then was back to being comfortable in midfield.

Robert Snodgrass – 7  – Snatched his chance to score after Anderson played him through. Made the most of his opportunity to score and generally looked good in possession.

Mark Noble-  7  – Got booked needlessly in the first-half. Nice pass to Anderson to start the build up for the Hammers’ first goal.

Attack

Felipe Anderson – 9 – Cruised down the left to make Fulham pay on the counter-attack to gift Snodgrass an opportunity to put the Hammers 1-0 up. Created the Hammers’ second goal by knocking it to Hernandez who then played it in to Antonio to fire it home. Came alive expertly anytime the Hammers went forward. MOTM contender.

Michail Antonio – 7.5 – Took his chance to score and was lively whenever the ball came to him.

Javier Hernandez – 7 – Fantastically flicked the ball to Antonio for him to score, which was unselfish and the right decision.

Substitutes

Pedro Obiang on for Noble (61) – 6- Solid

Andy Carroll on for Hernandez (73)  – 5 – Didn’t really get the services to stake his first-team claim.

Grady Diangana on for Antonio (84) – N/A
