West Ham must follow Liverpool’s example when deciding what to do in January over Marcus Browne by sending him on loan to Derby County.

The Hammers may end the 21-year-old midfielder’s loan spell at Oxford United in the winter window according to Football Insider, as they feel he would benefit from playing in the Championship and a host of clubs are pursuing for him.

According to Football Insider, Derby County are one of the team considering making a move for Browne and given how well Liverpool’s decision to loan Harry Wilson to them has worked out, the Hammers should move their promising youngster to Pride Park.

Browne just liked the Reds’ Wilson is a fabulous promising attack-minded talent who could really be something special in the Premier League.

Yet in the case of Wilson and Browne, both are not ready to tear it up for their respective sides in England’s top-flight but the duo both have chances of changing that scenario next season.

Jurgen Klopp opted to loan Wilson to Derby and while working with Frank Lampard, he has notably impressed and looks able to step up and play a part at Anfield next season.

The 21-year-old Reds winger has played 20 times across all competitions for Derby and you can see how he has benefited from working with Lampard as he appears to have improved.

Wilson’s early form at Derby wasn’t spectacular but after being carefully managed by the 40-year-old, which saw him spend times on the sidelines, he has emerged a better player who borders on being a guaranteed starter for the Championship side.

Therefore while Browne has torn it up for Oxford United this season and is in red-hot form for them in League One, for him to push for place in Manuel Pellegrini’s side he still needs to improve slightly more.

Given that Lampard has aided Wilson’s development, there’s no reason to suggest he couldn’t get Browne ready to feature in the Hammers’ first-team especially when the manager knows all about playing for the London club.

Claret & Hugh reported that the Hammers had made no decision about Browne as it stands but if Derby do make their interest concrete then they have to send their promising attacking midfielder straight to Lampard.
