Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock heaped praise on West Ham attacker Marko Arnautovic ahead of his side having to potentially deal with him on Tuesday.

The Hammers are set to host the Bluebirds at the London Stadium on Tuesday and the veteran boss shared that his side were not going to roll over.

Warnock then simply said wow when starting to talk on the subject of Arnautovic and shared that he thought the player had been a revelation at the London Club.

“We don’t want to go there and just roll over, give them an early goal and get the crowd up,” said Warnock ahead of his side taking on West Ham on Tuesday, as transcribed by Sky Sports.

“Chicharito – his two goals [in the 3-0 win over Newcastle] were fantastic.

“Arnautovic (Marko), wow, he has just been a revelation,”

OPINION

No one is really going to argue with Warnock on this one. The manager has clearly been blown away by the sublime talents of Arnautovic and who can blame him really. The 29-year-old ever since finding his feet at the Hammers under David Moyes has been the club’s star man as he has regularly been the player relied upon to get the goals.  This has continued to be the case under Manuel Pellegrini this season as Arnautovic has constantly been chosen to the lead the line whenever possible, despite injury doubts hanging over him. The powerful forward is leading the club’s scoring charts for the season as it stands, with five goals in 13 outings. Yet Arnautovic hasn’t scored in his last three league matches which means he is no doubt eager to get back on the scoresheet against Cardiff. Hopefully that ends up being the case as it would be nice to see Arnautovic get a goal to his name as that will likely mean that three points will follow from the Hammers’ mid-week fixture.
