Ray Parlour heaped praise on West Ham attacker Felipe Anderson following his performance in the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.

The Arsenal legend was impressed by the 25-year-old’s goal in the game before sharing that he thought the winger has really improved and had been in excellent form as of late.

Parlour made the remarks after Alan Brazil questioned whether fellow talkSPORT broadcaster Ian Abrahams still thought Anderson was a waste of money.

“Wow, what a goal,” said Parlour on talkSPORT (Monday December, 9:49am).

“He’s really improved, he has been excellent the last few games Anderson and it was a really big win for West Ham that was.”

OPINION

Parlour clearly has been impressed by Anderson as of late and it’s easy to see why. The Hammers summer recruit looks like he has settled into life at the London Stadium and as a result is now able to dazzle supporters with his ability. Anderson’s goal against Palace is worthy of any highlight reel and will no doubt be replayed a few times this season. The 25-year-old has scored six goals in 16 league outings and register one assist to help his side cause this season, which shows the positive impact he has had. While there have been times this season where Anderson was a disappointment due to be defensively suss, that isn’t going to matter if he keeps excelling when in front of goal. The only reason the player’s defensive weakness has been highlighted this season is because he has regularly had to play in front of Arthur Masuaku who has not exactly done his defensive duties as the side’s left-back.
