West Ham legend Frank McAvennie instantly took to social media following West Ham beating Fulham 2-0 on Saturday to rave about Robert Snodgrass playing his part in the win.

The Hammers icon shared that while he was disappointed he couldn’t get the game on television, he was glad to hear through updates that the winger was still flying the flag for Scotland at his old club.

“Couldn’t get the game on tv, thanks but having good laugh at the bar meeting other WHU supporters also stuck to their phones for updates,” tweeted McAvennie via his verified personal account.

“Great to see keeping the Scottish flag flying at my club.

Snodgrass scored the opening goal for the Hammers in their 2-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage as he struck in the 17th minute to set the Hammers on their way to another victory.

OPINION

Snodgrass once again was in the spotlight for the Hammers for all the right reasons on Saturday. The winger took his chance to score for his side on the counter-attack and was clinical in front of goal. Snodgrass after 16 league games played this season, now has two goals and three assists to show for his efforts and few would have predicted him to play such an important part ahead of the campaign starting. The 31-year-old’s Hammers career look dead last season with him spending his time on loan at Aston Villa rather than staying at the London Stadium to participate in their 2017/18 campaign. However under Manuel Pellegrini’s guidance, Snodgrass has the seized opportunity to be a regular member of the Hammers’ first-team and it’s a joy to behold. The player clearly enjoys playing for the club, based on his celebrations, and it’s always nice to see someone so passionate succeed.
