Lots of West Ham fans took to Twitter to slam the display of attacker Lucas Perez in the clash with Crystal Palace. The Hammers may have beaten their London rivals 3-2 on Saturday but many supporters weren’t going to credit the summer recruit for his part in the victory. Perez was handed a rare start by Manuel Pellegrini against Palace but didn’t really make the most of his chance. While it may seem harsh that one fan did claim Perez could be the worst player to wear the Hammers shirt since Enner Valencia, you can easily see why they opted to tweet that. Aside from the 30-year-old’s performance in midweek against Cardiff City, where he scored twice in quick succession, he has struggled since joining. It’s true that Perez has been handed opportunity after opportunity, but he has had more than enough minutes to make a case for himself, yet he simply hasn’t.
