OPINION
This is becoming a regular occurrence. It seems that every time West Ham play the supporters tear into Arthur Masuaku for his performance. He didn’t look great once again in the first half of the Hammers’ clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday, continuing a run of worrying displays at left back. He didn’t deal with James Tomkins very well which led to James McArthur opening the scoring for Palace and once again his defending has been called into question. He contributes pretty well on the attacking side of things but that doesn’t make up for his woeful defending. He knows he’s not a left back, but the manager is continuing to play him there and he has made no improvements. He is now a liability and the club desperately need to address the position come the January transfer window. Masuaku is clearly not the answer, while Aaron Cresswell hasn’t been at his best either – something needs to be done.
