OPINION
Pedro Obiang as not been a regular for West Ham recently, but if these fans’ tweets are anything to go by, he definitely made an impact in this 2-1 win over Southampton on Thursday. One supporter even labelled the midfielder as “class” against the Saints, something which would definitely not been said at the start of the season. Like one fan points out, he complimented Declan Rice well in the middle of the park, which may bode him well in terms of starting ahead of Mark Noble more often. Obiang is arguably one of the most underrrated players in the West Ham team, but it is clear to see from this section of fans that his contribution can be invaluable. Another supporter highlighted how he was one of the players who did the “dirty work” that nobody else wanted to do. Every team needs a player like this, and luckily for the Hammers, they may have rediscovered him once again.

Thought Obiang was the coolest headed player in our midfield today. Never rushed anything just always looked for the best option. Needs to keep that up! #WHUFC
