It is no surprise to see the West Ham United fans so upset by Grady Diangana’s shock absence from the match day squad against Newcastle United on Sunday. Yes, the youngster has not been in as good form of late as he was when he first burst into the Hammers team earlier this season, but to drop him altogether is a stunning move from manager Manuel Pellegrini – and not one which has gone down well with the London Stadium faithful. The Chilean has picked a strong attacking team for West Ham’s trip to Newcastle on Sunday, with attackers Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez both starting up front, but Diangana’s absence is rather bemusing. The youngster would have been a good option off the bench against the Magpies, as his pace would be a huge weapon late on when the home defence is tiring at St James’ Park. However, Pellegrini is the boss and he obviously feels he knows best, so fans will have to see how the team gets on without him.
