West Ham legend Frank McAvennie took to his social media account to tweet attacker Robert Snodgrass following the Hammers’ 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.

The 59-year-old, who had two separate spells at the Hammers, shared via a tweet on his verified personal account to Snodgrass that he believes the winger is playing a big part in the team pulling together.

“I told you you’d love it Snods, the team is pulling together & you’re a big part of that,” tweeted McAvennie on Sunday.

“Enjoy buddy, see you soon

OPINION

It seems while many doubted Snodgrass’ ability to be a success at the London Stadium this season, McAvennie was quietly confident that the 31-year-old was set to enjoy his time wearing a Hammers shirt. The Hammers legend can now bask in the knowledge that he was right to back Snodgrass as he has been in tremendous form so far this season.  The experienced player has featured 18 times across competitions this season, scoring three goals and registering an impressive seven assists in the process. Snodgrass’ goal against Palace on Saturday was particularly noteworthy as it was a beautiful finish that will no doubt be replayed for the next few days ahead of the Hammers’ next fixture. It’s quite impressive how Snodgrass has turned his Hammers career around as after being loaned out to the Championship’s Aston Villa last season, you wouldn’t have backed him to become an integral part of the team like he has.
