OPINION
Who can blame the Celtic fans for reacting in this way? Andy Carroll is hardly the most prolific of strikers, and now that the Sunday Post have linked him with a move to the Hoops, it is no surprise that the supporters are not happy. Odsonne Edouard is not doing too badly this season, but the fans need a striker they can rely on – not one who is “injury prone” and whose “attitude is all wrong”. The last thing Celtic need in this title race is a striker who is hardly going to feature – they need one who can help Edouard bag in the goals. It is clear to see that some of the fans think the club should steer well clear of the 29-year-old, as they no doubt believe that he would jeopardise their ability in the final third. When he is fit, Carroll can be a decent striker, but unfortunately, that is hardly ever the case. It is easy to agree with the fans on this one – signing Carroll would be a terrible idea.
