West Ham United supporters would have no doubt been sweating after the recent speculation linking striker Marko Arnautovic to an exit.

Speaking to Gianluca di Marzio, Arnautovic’s agent – his brother Danijel – said there was interest in the forward from the likes of Chelsea and Everton.

“Many Premier League clubs are following him, like Chelsea and Everton, but they are not the only ones,” he said.

The Hammers first teamer has been a prominent figure for the club in recent seasons and has really excelled since former manager David Moyes utilised him up front – and the rest is history, as they say.

However, fans would have been thinking that a player as talented as the Austrian was surely destined for bigger things? After all, why wouldn’t Arnautovic want to be playing for a successful team like Chelsea?

Champions League football is the dream of any player, so nobody would blame him if he did want to make the switch.

Nevertheless, despite reports linking him to a departure from the London Stadium, the mainstay has put the fans’ minds at rest with an under-the-radar remark on a West Ham post on social media site Instagram.

He wrote from his own account: “To all the fans dont put any bad energy to the comment nothing is true from the newspapers its not good to believe always what you read  just to let you know guys okay lets go [sic]”

The Irons fan favourite’s message is very clear here – he is not going anywhere anytime soon.

He is obviously enjoying his time with the club and by the looks of it, he is not going to put an end to that any time soon despite the rumours that have been circulating.

West Ham fans do not need to sweat anymore, because any chance of Arnautovic moving in January has had cold water poured all over it.

Of course, that will not stop clubs putting in an offer for the player in the next transfer window, but they will essentially be throwing their money at a brick wall if this comment is anything to go by.
