West Ham attacker Jordan Hugill impressed a section of Twitter, mostly made up of Middlesbrough supporters, by scoring for Boro on Saturday to help them defeat Brentford 2-1. The 26-year-old forward is currently on loan at Tony Pulis’ side and his form has started to improve after a slow start for the club. Hugill scored twice against Wigan ahead of the international break and then grabbed his third goal of the campaign at the Bees’ expense on Saturday. It seems the forward’s confidence has been restored after what was a no doubt demoralising experience with the Hammers’ last season. Hugill joined from Preston North End in January and was allowed to make only three brief appearances. Manuel Pellegrini sanctioned the player’s temporary exit from the club in the summer and based on the fact that some fans are now declaring their love for him, it seems like it’s starting to go well for Hugill at Boro. The Hammers-owned player doesn’t look like having a long-term future at the London Stadium, so he needs to deliver the goods in order to convince a side to permanently sign him from the Premier League outfit.
