Robert Snodgrass heaped praise on West Ham fans and highlighted teammate Felipe Anderson when delivering his verdict on the London Stadium.

The 31-year-old winger shared that Anderson was brought to the club in the summer to give fans something to cheer about at the stadium, and claimed that the 25-year-old was starting to show glimpses of his talent.

Snodgrass added that the London Stadium’s atmosphere had changed over the last few years and shared that you could feel the effect of fans making noise especially in games where the Hammers weren’t getting the result they wanted.

“People need that settling in period and I think you’re starting to see the best, small glimpses of players like on Saturday where Felipe Anderson pops up with two goals,” said Snodgrass on talkSPORT (November 7, 14:45pm).

“And y’know this is why they brought him to the club to make it better for people to go and sort of give fans something to cheer about at this stadium.

“As it hasn’t really been like this over the last few years but you can feel it, the fans have been terrific this season especially at the games when you don’t get the result, and they’re right there with ya.”

OPINION

Snodgrass clearly believes fans are getting behind the Hammers season and seems to relish the atmosphere that is starting to be created at the London Stadium. The Hammers situation at the ground has been a sore point ever since they moved there, as it clearly isn’t designed to host  a football team. However it seems Snodgrass believes that fans are being heard by players during the game and that they’re are helping their side achieve positive results. It’s fair to say the London Stadium appeared to be rocking during the 4-2 win over Burnley on Saturday so it’s easy to see where Snodgrass is coming from with his remarks. It’s also interesting that the winger has opted to highlighted his 25-year-old Brazilian teammate when sharing his opinion. This is because the winger shared that Anderson was recruited by the Hammers in order to gives fans something to cheer about and that shows the board clearly see the value in the ground having a good atmosphere.
