Mark Lawrenson predicted West Ham and Huddersfield to share the points when they meet on Saturday in the Premier League.

The BBC pundit reluctantly shared he thought the clash between the two sides would end as a 1-1 draw as the Hammers bordered on being unpredictable.

Lawrenson shared that he thought the Hammers were capable of blowing hot and cold so it was hard to know what to expect from them.

“Huddersfield will be full of confidence after getting a much-needed first win of the season against Fulham on Monday,” wrote the pundit in his BBC Sport predictions.

“Now they are back at home again, in another game they will think they can get something out of.

“West Ham can blow hot and cold so it is difficult to know what to expect from them, but we do know the Terriers do not score many – so I cannot see there being many goals in this one.”

OPINION

Lawrenson is fair with his verdict on the Hammers as their form this season has been hard to forecast. The Hammers looked like they were on the top of their game and then crashed to a 1-0 defeat to Brighton. The Hammers have since rebounded in fantastic fashion by picking up a point against Leicester City and wowing against Burnley on Saturday. Manuel Pellegrini’s side brushed the Clarets aside by defeating them 4-2 and could have easily won that game by a bigger margin. However given that Huddersfield have finally got the monkey off their back having got their first win of the season over woeful Fulham, it’s easy to see why Lawrenson thought predicting this clash was difficult. The Terriers will clearly believe everything can start going right for them now and the Hammers must be wary of paying the price over facing Huddersfield at this time. Hopefully the Hammers can get more than a point from their upcoming travels though.
