West Ham are sweating over the fitness of Marko Arnautovic and Pedro Obiang ahead of the clash with Huddersfield Town, according to Claret & Hugh.

The dedicated Hammers website share that a source close to the squad has informed them that the duo will miss a couple of days of training this week and that the chances of them featuring against the Terriers are above 50/50.

Claret & Hugh report that no decision regarding the availability of Arnautovic and Obiang will be made until matchday.

OPINION

As Claret & Hugh report goes on to detail, both Arnautovic and Obiang have both struggled with injuries in recent weeks and clearly the duo are still causing Manuel Pellegrini a headache regarding their fitness. In terms of Arnautovic, the Hammers need him to be fit whenever possible as he is head and shoulders above the other attackers at the club. When the lethal finisher is missing it is much more of a struggle for Pellegrini’s side to scrape a victory and they should be aiming to overcome Huddersfield Town. The Terriers may have got a win over Fulham on Monday but that was mainly due to the Cottagers being absolutely woeful more than anything else. As far as Obiang is concerned, he would be a notable miss for the Hammers but more so because Pellegrini is so short in the midfielder department that it’s hard to know how he’ll cope without him.
