COMMENTARY
Some West Ham fans rightly took to their social media to drool over Declan Rice as he stood head and shoulders above his teammates in the clash with Manchester City on Saturday. The 19-year-old who played in midfield against the current Premier League leaders, impressed despite his side losing 4-0. It’s no surprise that one Hammers fans claimed that he paid for a season ticket in order to watch Rice as you feel that you can depend on the player to shine no matter the circumstances. Hopefully the Hammers are able to hold onto Rice as the teenager is clearly a fantastic talent who can lead the club to bright future. However given the fact he hasn’t signed a new deal yet, his current one expires in 2020, you do fear the worst as the bigger sides in the league are destined to start swarming like vultures around him. Yet given that Rice did impress once again on Saturday, surely the board are scrambling to put together a suitable deal for him to sign.
